In 2017 Katharine founded a series of workshops for young women aged 12-15 years in association with the Royal Philharmonic Society. The workshops, which also aligned with Fitzwilliam College's commitment to widening participation, were designed to give young women the opportunity to conduct professional instrumentalists and begin to learn the craft of conducting.
