During her three years at Fitzwilliam College Katharine worked closely with ensembles based at the College (including the Fitz Sirens, Fitz Barbershop, Fitz Swing, Fitz Chapel Choir, Orchestra on the Hill & numerous chamber ensembles). She also founded a program of innovative conducting workshops, instituted a new emphasis on strings performance & outreach, and established four new scholarships including the Yehudi Menuhin Prize & Scholarship.
In 2014 Katharine was appointed Director of Music & Bye-Fellow of Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge. She was the first woman appointed to the position and the first mother to hold such a position in either Cambridge or Oxford.
In her role as Director of Music Katharine curated over 200 events including a Menuhin Centenary Series (reported here in Classical Music magazine), the Fitzwilliam String Quartet's residencies and Pop-Up Opera's first visit to Cambridge.
