Katharine teaches both orchestral and choral conducting. Recent engagements include seminar teaching at the Louise Crossley Conducting Workshop (Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra) and private tutoring. Her approach to teaching conducting is as a communicative practice which should be developed in tandem with musicianship. Katharine's teaching is informed by her research and particularly focuses on the gestural element of conducting. She teaches in workshop, coaches during rehearsals and in sessions away from the podium.
